We also stopped by the Ben Ezra Synagogue and the beautiful Sultan Hassan Mosque – what a contrast of architecture and history! Highly educational, yet not boring at all – that’s a rare combo.

We joined this tour in February and didn’t expect to enjoy it this much. The pickup was on time and the van had a strong AC (a blessing in Cairo!). We were able to explore several historical religious sites in both the Coptic and Islamic sections of the city. The visit to the Mosque of Amr Ibn El-As was surreal – it’s the oldest mosque in Africa! It was nice that the guide gave us free time to take photos and just breathe in the atmosphere without pressure.
